Applying for your Russian Visa
This year’s Soccer World Cup will take place in Russia, from the 14th of June to the 15th of July- which is perfect because a Russian Tourist Visa is valid for a period of up to 30 days!
To apply for a Russian tourist visa from Nigeria, you need to fill out a Visa Application form, which you can find using this link. To access the form, pick your country and preferred language, then tick the box stating you have read the important information.
You will book an interview at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Lagos, or at the Representative Office of the Russian Federation in Abuja.
The waiting period for verification of your submitted documents and the issuance of your visa is approximately 20 days.
Documents to take on the day of your interview:
- Two copies of your application form filled out and printed, signed and dated.
- Your passport. Make sure your passport will be valid for at least 6 months after you leave Russia. Also make sure that your visa has at least 2 clean, side by side pages.
- Two identical passport size photos (30mm x 40mm) with a white background. Write your name and surname at the back of both photos.
- Your proof of payment.
- Bank account statements of 3 months.
- Policy of your medical insurance.
- HIV (AIDS) test certificate.
- Copy of an agreement on tourist services.
- Birth or adoption certificates for minors, as well as marriage certificates or name change affidavit if applicable.
- Police character certificate or police deportation certificate if applicable.
- Pre-paid self-addressed return envelope from a reliable delivery company (FED EX, DHL, UPS).
When you complete your application form online, you will also receive a list explaining what you must take with you. Make sure to use the list as reference to double check you have all the right documentation in place.
