Dubai has announced that the city reopened for tourism on July 7th. Delightful Dubai with attractions such as the world’s tallest building the Burj Khalifa and the sail-shaped luxury Burj Al-Arab is the world’s busiest destination for international travel.
Confidence
Authorities say the beautiful beaches and shopping malls in Dubai are safe tourist attractions. The city will continue to fight and control the coronavirus with confidence. They realise it will take time for visitors to arrive and believe that sharing their confidence will welcome travellers.
‘…superb shopping malls and amazing architecture…’
In 2019 Dubai welcomed 16.7million international guests, up from 15.9million in 2018. The city’s 741 hotels accommodated around 75% occupancy for the year, with visitors staying on average 3½ days. Tourists simply love the nightlife scene in Dubai’s, their many restaurants, superb shopping malls and amazing architecture.
Travel regulations
Everyone entering public places in Dubai will receive a temperature check from a staff member carrying a thermometer. They will notice continuous cleaning by means of fog disinfectants over rooms and wiping down of tables and chairs. Above fulfilling government regulations, Dubai has obtained outside certification for its cleaning routines.
There are strict travel regulations in place in Dubai. In order to travel, tourists must take a COVID-19 test within 96 hours of their flight and be able to show a negative result to their airline. If this is not done, visitors will be tested on arrival and required to isolate while waiting for results which takes a few hours. Travellers must have health insurance covering COVID-19 or sign a declaration agreeing to cover the costs of treatment and isolation.
Tourism is key
Dubai is among the first Middle Eastern destinations to restart tourism. Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism is ready to welcome the many travellers who have been in lockdown in their homes for months. He said “We’re very excited about this because tourism is a key pillar for Dubai. We have been making sure that the public and visitors’ health and safety is of utmost importance. We are confident, optimistic and we’ve made sure that during this time Dubai remains top of mind.”

Dubai Tourism has launched a campaign ‘Ready When You Are’ that highlights Dubai’s famous attractions and adrenaline-filled activities with an announcement that tourists are welcome once again.
