So you’re on your way to that well-deserved break with your family. You’ve booked well in advance, everything is sorted and all that’s left is getting to your dream destination. Now it is time to pack.

To assist you, VIP Express Tourism Limited compiled a few holiday packing tips to follow, no matter where you’re heading.
1) Make a list
Not very exciting, but a list will help make sure you have packed all the essentials. Tick off items as you pack them.
2) Weather forecast
Check the destination weather forecast and pack accordingly. Don’t forget your umbrella when you’re heading into the rain season!
3) Roll, don’t fold
Rolling your clothes into tube shapes, then stacking them, will save space and leave you with less creases. Roll delicate items with tissue paper to protect them from snags.
4) Bag them
Place your liquid items in re-sealable plastic bags when you pack. This way if one of the bottles get damaged or open during your travels, it won’t spill all over your wardrobe.
5) Shoes
Shoes are bulky and difficult to pack, only take shoes to fit the occasion. A comfortable pair suitable for hiking or walking long distances is always a winner, as you will most likely be doing some exploring on your holiday. Pack shoes first and wear your bulkiest shoes on the plane to save space in your luggage.
6) Chargers and plug converters
These are available at the airport but might be more expensive there, so rather buy before you leave and ensure you can tick it of your list. Try to share chargers between family members where possible, to save space.
7) Weight restrictions
Know the limitations set by the airline on baggage weight and stick to them. Weigh your luggage after packing and remember to leave enough space for mementos and other shopping done at your destination.
8) Essentials for hand luggage
Pack a spare change of clothes in your hand luggage, in case your baggage is delayed. Avoid stowing valuable items such as jewellery, money, cameras or other electronics in your baggage. Rather keep this in your hand luggage.
9) Fluid items
Remember to limit hand luggage fluids and gels to 100ml per item and keep it in clear plastic bags for possible inspection by airport personnel.
Last but not least…
10) Travel documents
Passport, visa, boarding pass, insurance and money or travellers cheques. Do not leave home without these! Make sure your passport is valid for 3 months after your return date. Ensure you are covered by e-mailing yourself copies of the whole families’ passports, visas and insurance.
