How to get your visa for USA
If you want to travel to the USA for pleasure, you need a B2 Visa (Tourist Visitor Visa). A B2 Visa is normally valid for 1-6 months, but it can be valid for up to 10 years.
You can apply for your visa in 4 easy steps:
- Pay for your visa fee online, using your local currency.
- Complete a DS-160 form online to retrieve and appointment code.
- Book an appointment at the U.S Embassy near you.
- Arrive on the day of your appointment to attend a short interview.
You will find out on the day of your appointment if your visa was approved or not. Once it has been approved, your visa admin is done and you can wait until it is ready for collection.
Luckily, you don’t need to present a planned itinerary to apply for a B2 Visa, no matter how long the visa is valid for. So once your visa is on its way, you can relax and decide exactly what you want to do while you are there.

What time of year is best to travel to USA?
This depends on what you want to do, because the season will influence your trip. In the Northern Hemisphere, winter starts in late December and summer starts in late June.
However, different states have different weather too. If you travel west, like to Nevada or California you will find snow in winter, whereas in eastern states like Florida and South Carolina you won’t.
So if you want to play with your family in the snow, it is best to visit a place like California or New York over December. But if you want to have more fun in the sun, you could visit places like Florida between November and May when the rainfall is less.

That’s probably your best option. There is nowhere to do this in Canada (yet). Of course, you can send the passport to any place Iran has representation. You just have to make that very clear when you first apply. When you apply for an authorization number, you have to tell the person what embassy he or she should send that authorization number to.I found the Pakistan folks in DC to be super friendly and fast too!
